The Home Entertainment Tour: Day 2 – A Night of Rhythm, Truth, and Healing
Mon 27th Jul 2026
The Vibe Was Electric
Yesterday, the Home Entertainment Tour reached its crescendo at Azire Old Church Junction. Under the cool highland evening sky, the community gathered for a night of unforgettable performances, powerful messages, and collective healing.
Emcees Keshiel and Mrs. Williams of King's Event held the crowd with grace and energy, guiding the audience through a lineup of Bamenda's finest talents.
The Lineup
The stage came alive with a diverse array of artists, each bringing their unique sound and energy:
The Bafana Pro Entertainment Orchestra opened and closed the show, weaving the evening together with rhythms that bridged generations.
AAO Dance Crew: Bringing the Energy
AAO Dance Crew took the stage and set it ablaze with their precision, creativity, and boundless energy. Their choreography told stories without words—of struggle, of joy, of resistance, and of hope. The crowd cheered, clapped, and danced along as the crew demonstrated that dance is not just movement—it is a language of the soul.
From traditional-inspired steps to contemporary hip hop fusion, AAO proved that Bamenda is home to world-class talent beyond music. They reminded everyone that art takes many forms, and all of them are needed in the fight for community healing.
Makwando: The Creator of Raggaekossa
A special highlight of the night was Makwando, who performed his self-created genre—Raggaekossa. A fusion of reggae rhythms and makossa influences, this unique sound had the crowd moving in ways they had never experienced before. Makwando proved that Bamenda is not just consuming music—it is creating new genres that could one day take the world by storm.
DOH: Gospel Hip Hop with a Message
DOH brought a different kind of fire—Gospel Hip Hop. Their faith-filled lyrics carried messages of hope, redemption, and the power of choosing a better path. In a night focused on denouncing drug abuse, DOH's performance reminded the community that spiritual strength is a powerful weapon against addiction.
Ezao: Afro Soul That Touched the Heart
Ezao graced the stage with Afro Soul, delivering melodies that resonated deep within the souls of the crowd. His smooth, soulful voice carried stories of love, loss, and hope—reminding everyone that even in struggle, beauty can be found.
Black King: Afro Hip Hop from the Streets
Black King brought the raw, unfiltered energy of Afro Hip Hop to Azire. His lyrics spoke the language of the streets—authentic, unapologetic, and real. The crowd vibed to every word, feeling the rhythm of their own lives reflected in his music.
Messages That Mattered
This was more than entertainment—it was consciousness in motion.
Calls to Action Echoed Through Poetry and Song:
Against Drug Dealers and Addicts – Artists did not shy away from naming the problem. Messages called out those who profit from poisoning the youth and challenged addicts to seek freedom.
To Parents and Caregivers – Spoken word pieces encouraged families not to give up on young ones lost to addiction. Hope, not condemnation, was the theme.
To Men in Uniform – A powerful moment came when Mottanni spoke directly to law enforcement: "History will judge your silence as a weapon of mass destruction." It was a call for those in power to act, to protect, and to serve the community with courage.
Medine Yahje's Haunting Performance
Medine Yahje delivered a spoken word piece that left the crowd in profound silence. She performed from the perspective of an addict—a voice rarely heard, often silenced by shame.
Through her words, the crowd heard:
- The pain and trauma that leads one to substances
- The confusion and desperation of addiction
- The longing to be normal again
- The painful realization that "this drug doesn't give joy"
It was a moment of raw, uncomfortable truth—and the crowd received it with open hearts
When the Crowd Vibrated, The energy peaked when:
AAO Dance Crew brought the heat with mind-blowing choreography
Awaje and Huxula brought hip hop fire, proving that the youth of Bamenda have voices that demand to be heard.
Black King delivered Afro Hip Hop with royal authority
Makwando introduced the crowd to Raggaekossa—a genre born in Bamenda
DOH brought gospel hip hop that lifted spirits
Ezao soothed souls with Afro Soul
Mottanni's poetry pierced the silence, calling for accountability and change
The crowd vibrated—not just to the rhythm, but to the truth being spoken, the dance being witnessed, and the movement being built.
A Community Transformed
As the Bafana Pro Entertainment Orchestra closed the night, something had shifted in Azire.
The elders had been honored through rhythms of the yesteryears.
The youth had been given a platform and a challenge.
The community had been called to action.
Dancers and musicians had united to show that art in all its forms is the weapon of the people.
New genres like Raggaekossa had been showcased—proof that Bamenda is a birthplace of musical innovation.
The Home Entertainment Tour is not just a series of shows. It is a movement—one that uses art to heal, to confront, and to unite.
